I am finally back from Genting only this afternoon and only decided to blog now as I was resting cause today got to wake up early to return to Singapore. I woke up at 5.30 am to do my things and then did my last final things before bringing the things downstairs.
The first day I woke up quite early to do the last check before setting off.Luckily there was a taxi which wanted to drop off passenger and I grabbed the taxi and reached school around 5.45 am.Then the principal gave us a briefing then we got up on the bus.We left the school about 6.15 am and it was a very long journey before reaching the destination and we had the custom check.It took more than 8 hours with breaks along the way and i bought a spongebob cushion.It was a long and windy road up the mountain.
Once we had reached there,we had been given our room keys and went up to our room and took a bath then went to sleep then woke up for dinner and then we had the opening ceremony at the convention center. I was sleeping alone in the room.
The second day was the day of our competition and I know that most of us were nervous as we had to get a good result for the school.We had warm-up session before the competition and the competition was very tense and there were three judges.We were only given 10 min to perform on stage.After we performed, we were more relieved that we are done with it.We also listened to other choirs sing and also took a photos.
We had workshops on the third day and yesterday with the judges and it was a very valuable experience as we get to learn different techniques from the judges to improve on our choir projection of voices and how to make the sound travel out.
Yesterday, we only knew our result at 3 pm and we were shocked that we had got a Gold C. Most of us had broke out into tears and cried when they had heard the result as we did not expect the judges to think so highly of our choir.
Then we had to perform at night for the closing ceremony and we sang turkey in the straw and then suddenly everyone started to clap along to the music.We had not expected people to clap along to the music.
When I got back to my room, I had to squeeze everything into my luggage and pack everything as Mrs Ho said that we are leaving at 7 am. I thought that it was too early for us but luckily me, Shen Ping and Salimin woke up early to bring our luggage down and dropped the key cards into the express checkout box. We left our luggage at the convention center nicely stacked into a row and went for breakfast.We ate halfway then we saw Ain they all coming down for breakfast with their luggage.I then went down myself as Salimn and Shen Ping had already went down.People say 7 am must be at convention center with your luggage some more people can come around 7.20 am strolling down like nobody business.It is not fair to those who had came down early.I know that they came late cause some of them had slept very late last night.
Our coach driver had to wait for "the blur queen'" and Kimberly as the blur queen had left something in her hotel room.I am not sure what she had left behind at the room.Some more the coach at first was not cold then suddenly became so cold after a long period of time.There was only 1 toilet break along the way.Then we had to bring our passport for chopping at the border and then we had to bring our luggage and stuff down from the coach to check.Then got one officer asked how was my trip and I said was okay. Then he said :"meaning not good trip is it ??" and I said no and proceeded on to the luggage check.There was a crash cause a lot of us were going at one shot.After that, I put my luggage into the coach luggage compartment and went into the bus and sat down.The coach fetch us to school and I brought the keyboard to the staffroom with Mrs Ho and saw Mr Loke on the way to the staffroom. Mr Loke was praising the choir and Mrs Ho handed the certificate and trophy to Mr Loke and then went to the staffroom.There was not even a teacher around in school and Mr Loke opened the door for Mrs Ho to go in. I placed the keyboard and left the staffroom and took my luggage and stuff. I went to wait for a taxi for at least 20-30 min before getting myself a taxi and reached home.
